Roadtrip 2022 Spring: Seaside - Bend - Boise - Park City - Grand Junction - Park City - Boise - Richland

Day 12 - Dillon Falls

Just for Freeman. We've enjoyed lengthy discussions around the dinner table about the poetic expressiveness of dead grass.

Our life on the road: dog one way, Wendy the other.

A tiny bit of snow remains along the grassy fields.

Turkey vultures out hunting for small black Shelties.

A small study of the rhythm of the grasses. This one's for you Freeman.

That little lip on the river is Dillon Falls. There are tiny signs on the banks warning of this.

Love the sign at the kayak launch site a couple hundred meteres away that reads "upstream paddle only".

A mighty tree grimly clings to the bank next to Dillon Falls.

This cross-root weave seems to be a community strategy for staying upright.

Russ finds a stump.

Just for Freeman: The time-honoured "Sit on a Stump and Make Pictures, Dammit" exercise.

Dillon Falls.

Wendy and Ella in the Zen Garden.

The little known tree branch tensioner snake. Respected for it's ability to quietly seperate trees that become angry and unruly with one another.

Tiny lupins just coming alive - protected by their pine cone friend Mavis.

We have done so little "fine dining in" during the pandemic. But when it Bend - we had to go to 5 Fusion. Thankfully they are surviving - and the food was incredible as always. No beats missed. The red rice owl nest beer was especially spectacular paired with the food.
